Ronald McDonald House Charities provide families of seriously ill or injured children with a 'home away from home' while they receive treatment in a nearby hospital.
Last year the charity opened their doors to over 770 families and gave them over 7,750 nights of accommodation in their time of need.

Cox will ride alongside experienced and novice riders during a five day, 535 kilometre journey, across northern NSW.
"From hearing stories of my students who have been supported by the charity, I was inspired to use my passion for cycling to help other families access the treatment and support their need," Mr Cox said.
"I hope my efforts in the saddle will continue to help raise awareness for the charity across northern New South Wales and encourage locals to give generously to a worthwhile cause."
Mr Cox has used this passion to raise $30,000 for the cause in the past but is aiming a bit higher this year. He is hoping to raise $2,500 individually and $200,000 between him and the 17 others who are taking part in the ride.
The cyclists will begin their ride at McDonald's in Inverell on Tuesday, September 10 before heading south and stopping at Armidale, Tamworth, Scone and Singleton. They will cross the finish line at John Hunter Children's Hospital in Newcastle on the Saturday, September 14.
They will stop along the way at major towns to visit seriously ill or injured children in hospitals and wish them a speedy recovery.
