The school's year 12 Exploring Early Childhood class sewed blankets and created cards and felt hearts for premature babies at the hospital.
They also made scrunchies for the Maitland Hospital Volunteers to sell.
The class visited the hospital on Wednesday to donate the items and take a tour of the Special Care Nursery.
They also met with the head of the hospital's Paediatrics Unit, Megan Brown, who spoke to the students about pre-term babies and their special needs.
Maitland Grossmann TAS teacher Holly Cronk said the students became quite emotional seeing the tiny premature babies, but felt quite proud and happy to have been able to offer something to them.
"It was really nice to have that community engagement, " Ms Cronk said.
"It was quite a selfless act."
