Several Maitland Saints juniors are following in the footsteps of Maitland-born Sydney Swan Isaac Heeney by taking part at the NSW/ACT state selection trial in Albury this week.

Maitland with six players had the most representatives from the Hunter and Central Coast competition teams.
Three teams each from the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants academies have been competing in under-13 and under-14 levels.
At under-15s there are two Swans and Giants teams also competing for team honour and further representative chances.
Maitland under-13 players Rory Hodgson and Rhylan Hoffman represented the Swans in Team Blakey and Team Florent respectively.
Talented under-14 trio Xavier Russell (Team Hewett), Jarrod Inglis (Team Allir) and Zac Steward (Team Dawson) took part.
Fellow Saint Oliver Latter was part of the Swans Under-15 Team North.
The young Saints lead an exciting group of youngsters the Saints senior team are hoping will either go onto AFL level or take Maitland to the top of the local AFL Hunter Central Coast competition.
The state zone trials featured more than 300 talented young AFL players from the AFL NSW/ACT region.
Hodgson and Hoffman were joined by six other under-13 players from the Hunter/Central Coast. Russell,
Inglis and Stewart were among nine under-14s from the region to take part and Latter had six teammates from the Hunter at the titles.
