Thomas, 13, won the 13-16 year old 85cc 2stroke/150cc 4stroke title in one of the most hotly contested categories at the championships.
It's a break-through Australian title for Thomas who, along with younger brother Jack, has been competing at most of the major meeting across Australia.
Thomas made the call to step up into the higher age category and also finished 10th in the 250cc category after winning the repechage.
In a successful meeting for Kurri Kurri Junior Motorcycle Club riders Cameron Dunker claimed two seconds, Talon Cardinale also has a second placing and Alexander Adamson and Cody Lewis collected third places.
