The long-time scorer, supporter and loyal servant was awarded honorary life membership on the eve of the 2019-20 season.
First grade skipper Tom Irwin said it was a fitting reward for Poli's tireless efforts over the years.
"Rick is always there to help the skipper at training and do whatever is needed on the day from organising drinks, putting cones out to mark the boundary, all the jobs that take time and need to be done," Irwin said.
"He is just a huge part of the club and everyone was wrapped when he received his life membership."
Poli said he was honoured and surprised when it was announced the club had granted him life membership.
"It is such a big honour. I received the Captain's Award before and was thrilled with that I never expected anything like this," Poli who started scoring for the Plovers in 2002-03 said.
Poli said the highlights from his time at the club were the 2011-12 and 2015-16 premierships.
His favourite players are among the who's who of Maitland cricket including Andrew Trappel, Aaron Mahony, Tim Clarke and from the earlier years Brett Taylor and Jason Cuts and women's cricket star Maisy Gibson
"I can remember when Maisy Gibson made her grade debut. I knew she was nervous so I gave her space and quiet to prepare. She has done so well we are all very proud of her," he said.
