The two girls, aged 14 and 16, were charged after the incident on Sunday afternoon, which was caught on video by a by-stander in the store.
One of the videos, which have been shared on Facebook thousands of times, shows security trying to escort the girls from the store. The teens begin swearing and trying to assault the person taking the video, but security manage to restrain them.
Another video also shows various items in the store being damaged and thrown around. Australian Community Media has chosen not to re-publish the videos.
Police said it started when the two girls appeared to leave a bag behind in the store, which is alleged to have contained stolen property.
The girls tried to get the bag back, police said, which is when the altercation broke out.
Police were called and one of the girls was arrested while the other allegedly tried to run from officers but was arrested across the road.
The 16-year-old was charged with behaving in an offensive manner, goods in custody and other matters relating to an incident in Newcastle, while the 14-year-old was charged in relation to the Newcastle incident.
They will both appear in court next month.
