Shaun Hill was the second highest scorer for Wests with 41, and he backed that up with the ball - cleaning up the tail end to take 3-9 from 4.4 overs.

In fourth grade, Kurri Weston's Craig Whyburn also outscored his last three totals combined with an unbeaten 114. The century helped his side to victory over Eastern Suburbs blue at Shamrock Hill.

Robert Wells was the most outstanding bowler of the weekend with an incredible 5-6 from his five overs in third grade at Tenambit Oval.

The Tenambit Bulls opener tore through Thornton's batters to restrict the away side to a total of just 69 in 20 overs.

Port Stephens' Tyran Eveleigh was almost as good with the ball claiming 5-8 in A-grade against Eastern Suburbs at Hinton.

It took Eveleigh less than three overs to pick up his five wicket haul and helped his side keep Easts to just 57 runs, which they chased down in just seven overs without losing a wicket.

Also in A-grade, Old Victoria's Chris Dawes scored a century in his side's loss to Tenambit Morpeth at Beryl Humble Oval.

The number six batsman arrived at the crease with his side on the ropes at 4-60, and piled on 105 runs from just 56 deliveries, helping Old Victoria to reach 7-194. But they fell short of the Bulls massive target of 335, making 259.

City United also had two bowlers pick up five wicket hauls at Maitland Park on the weekend.

Ken McNeilly claimed 5-27 in eight overs in his side's fourth grade victory over Northern Suburbs.

Tim Burton finished with 5-44 to lead City to a first grade win over Thornton. The haul follows on from another strong performance by Burton the match before, when he took 4-60 and 3-43 against Western Suburbs.
