There will be extra trains, buses, ferries and light rail services running throughout the three day event.
Valid pre-purchased event tickets (single day or package types) include travel to and from Newcastle on public transport.

Train
Extra trains will run to help move crowds to and from Newcastle over the three days of the event, particularly in the early morning in time for race start and later in the evening to help fans get home.
The closest station to the track is Newcastle Interchange at Wickham. From there, catch the light rail to Queens Wharf stop which is a short walk to Gates 1a & 1b or Gate 2 track entrances on Wharf Road and Hunter Street respectively.

Bus
While roads are closed and circuit preparations are underway for the event buses in Newcastle East will be rerouted to alternate bus stops. Plan your bus trip ahead of time at newcastletransport.info
Driving
Catching public transport is highly recommended over driving. Major roads in Newcastle CBD and Newcastle East will be closed for the duration of the event.
Shuttle buses will operate between the event parking site at McDonald Jones Stadium and Newcastle CBD. Pre-purchase a parking ticket ahead of time to guarantee yourself a space. Book online via Ticketmaster.
Stadium pick up and drop off: Turton Rd at McDonald Jones Stadium in Broadmeadow.
Newcastle pick-up and drop off: Honeysuckle Drive at Old Maritime Museum in Newcastle. From there Gate 1A or 1B is a 1km walk away along the waterfront.
Shuttle buses operating times:
- Friday: every 10 minutes from 6:30am until 2pm. Return services from 2pm until 7pm.
- Saturday race: every 10 minutes from 6:30am until 2pm. Return services from 2pm until 8pm.
- Sunday: every 10 minutes from 6:30am until 2pm. Return services from 2pm until 8pm.
Fans can also park at Stockton Wharf and catch the ferry across the Harbour to Queens Wharf, where Gates 1a and 1b access is a short walk away.
