Brandy Hill's Anne-Marie Best is one of those. She threw her support behind Speak Up 4 Water's Convoy to Canberra after listening to the political footballing on the issue during the ABC QandA Drought episode last month.
She said evidence from Australia Institute senior water researcher Maryanne Slattery and Menindee grazier Kate McBride during the show echoed the need for immediate water reforms.
The rally's theme is 'Can the Basin Plan' and will see a convoy proceed to Parliament House before a Water Embassy is established. A range of speakers have been lined up to address the key issues.

Ms Best has become Speak Up 4 Water's Newcastle and Hunter Valley coordinator and will run a bus to the event that will leave Newcastle at 6am on Monday, December 2 and return late on December 3.
"It is very evident the current Murray-Darling Basin Plan is not working, and the more I research the more passionate I become about getting politicians to fix it," Ms Best said.
"I will be at the rally to offer my support in any way I can. I would like to see our federal government listen to people on the land, rather than basing their decisions on so-called 'experts' who have no actual real life experience.
"We need to fix some of the inequities that are having a devastating impact on our farmers and communities.
"For example, I believe water and land should never have been separated, and I believe introducing full transparency in water trading is an absolute must."
The Murray-Darling Basin Plan became law in 2012 and governs water use across the basin's four states and the ACT. Since then there has been a lot of talk about the mismanagement of water in the system.
The Murray Darling Basin doesn't directly affect the Hunter, but it does contribute to the country's food security. Water mismanagement has left some family farms that rely on irrigation to grow crops without any water. In some cases the water is flowing past their farm and they cannot use it.
