The event starts at 7pm on Saturday and will feature three screening areas showing classic Christmas movies.
"Christmas at the Common is all about celebrating this special time of year with families and friends, and what better way to do that than to sit back, relax, and watch a classic Chrissy flick," Council's Place Activation Officer Charlotte Hilder said.
In addition to the movies, there will be roving entertainment, food trucks and, of course, popcorn available to buy. There will also be bright lights and decorations put up all around Morpeth Common.
The movies, which start at 8pm, include Home Alone, Muppets Christmas Carol and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, meaning there really is something for everyone.
Those interested in attending should pack a picnic rug, chairs and something warm, just in case the weather cools down.
Morpeth Common is located at 33 Edward Street.
