Maitland's junior cricketers called stumps on the first half of their season on Saturday morning.
The competition from Kookaburra 10 to the two under-16 divisions breaks for the school holidays.
Under-16 Division 1 players are the first to return with Friday nights matches on January 31 and the remainder of divisions are back on Saturday, February 1.
Representative cricket will continue over the December and January and many of the players in the older age groups will play grade cricket. There are also a number of cricket skills academies over the summer for the keenest of youngsters.
The Maitland Mercury caught up with action in the Under-13 Division 2 fixture between City Gold and Eastern Suburbs Blue at Robins Oval on Saturday morning.
The Easts youngster had a good win and are looking forward to the resumption of the season after back-to-back wins.
