Comerford, one of the most dynamic attacking players in the Northern NSW NPL competition, has not played since July, 2018, after injuring his ACL.
The 25-year-old, Newcastle Jets junior, has avoided a reconstruction and is looking very fit.
"Matty Comerford has been cleared by the specialist to play. He is a massive addition to the team," Bolch said.
"To have him up front with Braedyn Crowley, Joel Wood and Jimmy Thompson gives us a pretty dynamic attack."
The Magpies have also boosted their ranks at the other end of the field with Maitland-raised Joey O'Connor signing from the Newcastle Jets Youth team.
They have also signed Adam Blunden from the Central Coast. Blunden a left-foot defender played with Magpies midfielder Sean Pratt in the Central Coast Mariners youth system.
"Joey can play any of the wide roles, left back, right back and he can play in the two high areas," Bolch said.
"He has a good engine, is very quick and good on the ball.
"He is only 18. He is a Maitland boy. It's great again to get a Maitland boy back to the club.
"Getting the boys back to Maitland is something were very keen to do.
"Adam can play on left side of defence and as a holding midfielder. He is a pretty versatile left-footer."
Bolch said the Magpies had lost several players from the premiership winning team including Alex Read, Grant Brown who has moved to Port Macquarie with work, Ryan Clarke (retired) and Tommy Duggan who has signed with Broadmeadow Magic.
"Even though we've lost a few the balance is looking very good," he said.
"You look at the front three we've got Jimmy Thompson, Matt Comeford, Joel Wood and Braedyn Crowley fighting for three spots.
"Go into the midfield you've got the two Swan boys, Nick Cowburn Sean Pratt competing for three spots.
"We've kept our back four and added two more decent boys to the defence.
