Owners of the Windsor Castle Hotel have lodged an application with Maitland City Council to extend its operating hours to 9am to 2am from Monday to Saturday and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
The hotel's existing operating hours are 10am to midnight from Monday to Saturday and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
The application also seeks approval to extend the hours of the bottleshop from 10am to 11pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sunday.
A statement of environmental effects said the changes are "considered minor in nature".
"The proposal will result in an overall ongoing positive socioeconomic impact on the local area. The Windsor Castle Hotel currently provides employment opportunities within the area and will continue to do so as a result of the proposed extension of operating hours," it read.
"Accordingly, there will be no unreasonable social or environmental impacts. The proposed extended operating hours will reduce the migration of patrons between late night venues within East Maitland.
"Given the merit of the proposal and the absence of any significant adverse impacts, the modification is considered to be in the public interest and worthy of Council's support."
The hotel had previously applied to extend its hours in 2016 but was knocked back by councillors after surrounding residents raised concerns over the application.
Some of the residents' concerns included crime risk and 'quality of life'.
The current application is under assessment with Maitland City Council.
