In first grade, the game between Raymond Terrace and Eastern Suburbs at King Park was abandoned on Friday night after persistent rain at Raymond Terrace during the day.

Several other games were abandoned on Friday night and a raft of games have been cancelled this morning.

Kurri Weston announced their games were off across all grades, including the first grade fixture against Thornton at Kurri Central.

As at 9.30am calls had yet to be made on the first grade games between Western Suburbs and Northern Suburbs at Coronation Oval and City United and Tenambit Morpeth Bulls at Robins Oval.

Players in all grades are advised to check the Maitland and District Cricket Council or their individual club's Facebook pages for update.

In the 24 hours to 9am on Saturday, Maitland had received 8.8mm at the official Bureau of Meteorology recording station at the Maitland Airport. A further 0.8mm had fallen by 10am.

The forecast for the remainder of the day is for very high (90%) chance of showers and the chance of a thunderstorm.

The forecast for Sunday is a 60 per cent chance of rain and possible thunderstorms.

An unofficial recording for Raymond Terrace registered about 21mm in the 24 hour to 9am on Saturday. The Bom forecast was a very high (90%) chance of showers for the remainder of the day and the chance of a thunderstorm.

A medium (60%) chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and early evening was forecast for Sunday along with the chance of a thunderstorm.
