The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) High has forecast an 80% chance of showers, most likely during this afternoon and evening, the chance of a thunderstorm and light winds.
Rain is forecast for Friday and through the weekend with heavy falls tipped Friday and Saturday.
The BOM expected a change in conditions to occur on Thursday with rain Friday and Saturday, followed by showers from Sunday through to Tuesday.
Day time temperatures are expected to fluctuate between the mid to high 20s while minimum temperatures will be between 19 and 21 degrees.
BOM seven-day forecast:
. Thursday - 19 to 28 degrees with showers and an 80% chance of 3 to 10 mm.
. Friday - 19 to 26 degrees with rain and a 90% chance of 6 to 15 mm.
. Saturday - 20-26 degrees with rain and a 90%chance of 15 to 30 mm
. Sunday - 20 to 25 degrees with showers and a 90% chance of 15 to 35 mm.
. Monday - 20 to 27 degrees with showers and an 80% chance of 10 to 20 mm.
. Tuesday - 21 to 29 degrees with a shower or two and a 70% chance of 3 to 15 mm.
. Wednesday - 20 to 29 degrees with showers and a 70% chance of 2 to 8 mm.
According to Elder's Weather records the wettest February on record was in 1990 with 487 mm falling across Maitland and the driest February was the following year with only 7.8 mm of rain recorded.
