To celebrate NSW Seniors Festival, Maitland Community Care Services (MCCS) is hosting a 'Geri-Active Expo' at Green Hills Retirement Village.
"We know that keeping physically, mentally and socially active is good for our wellbeing and helps people to continue to live independently," Megan Smith, MCCS general manager said.
We can all stay active and safe in our homes and community.
"The focus of our Geri-Active Expo is to give people a taste of the numerous ways we can all stay active and safe in our homes and community, including hands-on tips using your own technology to help you keep in touch with loved ones.
"FIRE NSW and NSW Police will provide community safety tips and we'll play a game of Body Boosting Bingo!"
Other presenters include Hearing Australia and MCCS staff will present information on how to access in-home aged care, community transport, Meals on Wheels and more.
The expo will be held on Thursday, February 20 from 9.30am-12.30pm at Green Hills Retirement Village community centre in East Maitland. Entry via Stronach Avenue.
The cost of the event is free but bookings are essential. You can call 4932 5755 to book. Door to door community transport will be available for a small fee.
