Police are investigating after a motorbike was wheeled out of a Maitland motorcycle shop in a break-in and later found abandoned near a train line.

An unknown offender triggered the storm alarm when they broke into Maitland Motorcycles about 10pm on Sunday.
Police said the bike was then pushed out of the High Street store, but was soon dumped near a railway line.
Port Stephens Hunter police were notified and managed to recover the motorcycle.
Inquiries into the matter are ongoing. Any information that may assist police with their investigation should be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
