It's undoubtedly her favourite thing about making cupcakes.
And she would know after spending a week preparing for her cooking entries in the Maitland Show.
She dropped her best cupcakes and gingerbread off at the showground on Thursday and cannot wait to see all of the other goodies that have been entered in the cookery section.
It's the first time the 9-year-old has taken part in the show.
"I know how to bake the cupcakes and then I make the icing and then I make an explosion of decorations," she said.
"I use my imagination to decorate them. I put a flower on another cupcake, and a little pearl and then hearts shooting out on another one.

"I really like making them, I want to do some more cooking."
So what about the gingerbread? Well, that's a bit more complicated.
"I've made gingerbread before, I look at my recipe book so I know what to do," she said.
"Cupcakes are easier to make and I like to do the decorations. They are beautiful and amazing with the decorations.
"I think I might be a cupcake baker when I grow up ... and bake cakes too."
During her practice run she made two gingerbread figures and had them holding hands on top of one of the cupcakes.

"I've been practicing a lot. I love cupcakes so much and the frosting is the best. I like to colour the frosting. I really like all the flavours."
Her mum, Ione, encouraged all of her children to enter but Ruby was the only one who took on the challenge.
She said the venture had helped her expand on her academic skills.
"It has helped her with her maths and comprehension skills - there's the reading of the recipe, and looking at the fractions and measuring out the correct amounts," she said.
"She has improved a lot through this. You can use cooking to help them learn a lot of different skills."
The Maitland Show is on February 14, 15, and 16 at Maitland Showground.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for pensioners, $10 for children aged five and over, and $40 for a family pass of two adults and two children.
