Now they are preparing for their final engagement before the winner is announced.
The 2020 Maitland Showgirl will be announced at the official opening of the Maitland Show. There will be a pink sash for the runner-up and white sash for the third placegetter.
Each entrant brings something different to the long-standing rural women's movement.
The entrants are:
SHANELLE FAIRHALL
24, of Ashtonfield
Shanelle is fashion blogger who wants rural boutiques to have the promotion and recognition they deserve. She has a Certificate III in Events, a Certifcate IV in Business majoring in fashion and runs a blog called Fairest Of Them Hall. She is currently planning her wedding.
HOLLIE HASSLER
24, of East Maitland
Hollie lived in Germany for a few years before she moved to East Maitland. She runs a small business called Laserhaus which uses techniques like laser cutting and 3D printing to create arts and home decor. She thrives on being creative and entered the quest to be more involved in the community.
HAYLEY JOHNS
21, of Bolwarra Heights
Hayley is in her final year of a Bachelor of Podiatry. She hopes to work in the Maitland area after she graduates. She has a strong volunteering background, which began when she lived on a cattle property in Gloucester, and loves being involved in the community. She was Gloucester Showgirl in 2018 and 2019.
BREANNA MURRELL
24, of Largs
Breanna moved to Canada to work in the equine industry after the 2018 showgirl quest. She returned last year after training Chuckracing horses and competing across three provinces. She came home for the showgirl quest and to train a horse.
JESSICA NEAVE
23, of Clarence Town
Jessica is a casual teacher, and special education teacher, who wants to be an inspiration for the younger generation. She hopes to one day have a class of her own to teach. She has been riding horses since she was a toddler and she sings in her family's band, called JLS.
AMY NEWTON
19, of East Maitland
Amy is studying to be a teacher's aid and hopes to one day become a teacher. She moved to Maitland 10 years ago and would like to see more educational programs offered in the city to train students in a range of fields. She has performed stand up comedy on a cruise.
