A woman, 18, and man, 19, were charged in relation to a break-in at a Thornton home last month, in which a car and wallet were stolen. A credit card in the wallet was used to buy phone credit.
The pair were also charged over a break-in at Wallsend, where another car was also stolen.
They were arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of aggravated break, enter and steal; two counts of take and drive vehicle without consent and one count of fraud.
The male was also charged with an outstanding warrant, while the female will also face a drug possession charge.
