When last year's Mulletfest 'extreme' mullet winner Lyn Fry was asked to return as a judge at this year's event, she turned it down.

That's because she simply couldn't miss the chance to compete in the Chelmsford Hotel event again.
"I can't convey how excited I am about it," she said about this Saturday's event. "It's the most magnificent day that I will never forget.
"It's just so wonderful to see that many people with the same interest."
Lyn, who's from Oatley in Sydney, competed for the first time last year after seeing the inaugural Mulletfest winner Shane 'Shag' Hanrahan being interviewed on TV by Andrew Denton.
"I thought 'that's not a mullet, this is a mullet'," she said.
This year Lyn will enter the 'vintage' category, having rocked her mullet for an incredible 49 years.
She adopted the cut at the age of 10 when her mother had problems doing her hair ... and Lyn has never looked back.
"It's the best of both worlds," she said.
"I'm a cake decorator, so I wear it up in a bun because no one wants a four-foot long hair in their cake.
"But when I go out, which isn't very often, I let my hair down.
"My kids have wanted me to cut my mullet for years, but I won't let a hairdresser near it. I cut the front myself and let the rest grow long."
Lyn says her mullet may look a little different to last year.
After the 2019 Mulletfest, she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to replace the affected areas around her leg with metal.
"After the surgery I woke up with so many knots in my hair, about half a garbage bag full.
"I've lost a bit of thickness, but the length is still there."
The procedure has also meant Lyn now gets around on a crutch, but she said that won't stop her from doing her thing on stage this Saturday.
"I'll still get up and do my little dance," she said.
In other Mulletfest news, the three judges have been finalised for the third annual event.
Hairdresser Lee Nesbitt, musician Paul Grierson and father of a previous junior category winner, Paul Keavy make up the panel ... in other words, that's a mullet groomer, a mullet grower and a mullet breeder.
Doors open at 8am Saturday with the first parade at 9.30am.
