A group of young Hunter footballers made their mark on the national stage at the National Under-12 Skill Acquisition Phase Festival in Tasmania last week.

The seven talented youngsters - Everett Bell, Andre Zouein, Archie Brideson, Liam Campbell, Ty Stoker, Charlie Cotton and Callum McLeod - were selected to represent Northern NSW Football at the three-day festival in Devonport, Tasmania from February 21.
The festival provided opportunities for the players in the latter part of the Skill Acquisition Phase of development (U12s) to meet and play prior to the commencement of their respective league seasons in their home states or territories.
The NNSWF squads consisted of 22 players who were selected based on their performance and development throughout 2019 and during the initial phase of NNSWF's Skill Development programs throughout in 2019 and 2020.
Participation in the tournament served to provide valuable experience for players and coaching staff to benchmark their development against other talented players from across the nation.
The National SAP Festival has been running for several years and is an important part for the development and talent identification of young players.
The two squads competed in 14 games between them over the three-day tournament, against a variety of teams from different states, clubs and programs.
The boys played a very high standard of football and in no doubt is a reflection of the big futures ahead for each player.
