After a scoreless opening 20 minute period, the Knights ran riot scoring seven second half tries to over-run their out-classed opponents in a 58-0 romp.
The Roosters opted to rest their entire World Club Challenge squad and only had four players, Matt Ikuvalu, Drew Hutchison, Lachlan Lam and Poasa Faamausili, with NRL experience in their squad.
But they served it up to the Knights in the opening 20 minutes with the Newcastle defence vulnerable at times on both edges as the Roosters looked to capitalise on some cheap possession via mistakes from Kurt Mann and Lachlan Fitzgibbon.
Only some good scrambling defence kept the Roosters out.
It took the Knights 25 minutes to finally get on the board with backrower Mitch Barnett crossing after Kalyn Ponga worked the short side close to the Roosters line. Ponga converted from the sideline for a 6-0 advantage.
It was 12-0 just six minutes later when hooker Jayden Brailey took advantage of a quick play-the-ball to force his way over from close range.
Ponga completed the scoring in the first half when he caught a perfected executed short attacking kick from Mitchell Pearce on the full to cross under the posts for and 18-0 advantage.
Despite Pearce and Ponga sitting out the second half and coach Adam O'Brien constantly ringing the changes, the Knights posted seven tries after the break in a dominant performance.
The scoring was shared around with Barnett the only multiple try scorer.
Hooker Brailey was outstanding in his 60 minute stint at dummy half while centres Gehamat Shibasaki and Enari Tuala again stood out with Shibasaki scoring his first try for his new club. Daniel Saifiti and David Klemmer were again strong up front.
Tex Hoy celebrated his top 30 contract with a 35 metre try late in the second half.
In an added bonus for the Knights, they got through the trial injury-free and will take some confidence into their premiership-opener.
