Head and Heart Mindfulness, which teaches techniques to improve mental health and wellbeing, has brought forward its plan to provide digital resources due to the current coronavirus crisis.
"In the next 12 months, our plan was to release a digital platform to have in conjunction with what we do face to face," Head and Heart Mindfulness founder Kylie Humphreys said. "We've fast-tracked that in a week."
The business is offering mindfulness video sessions that include breathing, meditation, massage and other activities; digital workbooks for kids and adults and an online resource library for schools which includes video, audio and PDF resources. The resources are free for the first month and those who subscribe receive a free children's mindfulness journal.
Ms Humphreys said she felt the business had a duty of care to provide the resources during what is a difficult time for many.
"Everyone you talk to, they're overwhelmed at the moment," she said. "Mental health is going to be a huge area that's focused on.
"People are feeling stressed and anxious and mindfulness is proven to help people deal with those feelings."
