Headspace Maitland clinical services integration manager Felicity Scott said an event like COVID-19 pandemic can be overwhelming for young people.
"We are here for young people and parents. We are open to new referrals so anyone who needs to talk whether its anxiety, depression or isolation ... but also if they need a one-off chat then we are here," she said.
Headspace staff have been sharing a number of tips to help young people during the pandemic including eating healthy food, good sleep patterns properly and regular exercise.
"It's about trying to keep to your daily routines as much as possible," Ms Scott said.
"There are challenges for everybody including young people.
"We know social media and online platforms can be a cause of stress anytime.
"It has the potential to cause panic and anxiety especially amid COVID-19 so it's important to maintain a balance."
Despite closing its site, headspace Maitland is delivering services to young people via phone and online rather than in-person in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19 including online groups and activities.
Ms Scott said while the organisation hadn't had an influx in young people seeking help yet, staff were concerned for a "spike the longer that young people are at home".
"At the moment, it's a little quieter than usual but we think it's mostly around young people not being at schools and GP's prioritising other health concerns in the community," she said.
"Our concern is we will see a spike the longer that young people are at home and not connected to their usual routines, friends and sports.
"We are developing different activities and anyone can join. We are still trying to maintain all of the things we would normally do but trying to move it onto an online capacity.
"So young people have another outlet to feel connected to something that was normal before COVID-19."
