National cabinet will meet again on Tuesday and Friday, which could see easing of some restrictions, but WA's regional restrictions are not expected to be among them.
There is growing pressure to re-open the road blocks restricting travel between WA's regions, which came into effect on March 31 and which saw Perth and the Peel region grouped in together as one region due to their close proximity.
Mr McGowan said on Sunday the border closures had been crucial in helping keep the number of cases low.
"I know there's pressure to do that as soon as possible," Mr McGowan said.
"We don't have an exact time-frame as yet.
