Port Stephens-Hunter Police have charged a teenager following investigations into property theft in Maitland's western suburbs.

Officers attached to the Port Stephens Hunter Target Action Group, assisted by general duties officers and Maitland detectives, commenced an investigation into property theft in the Rutherford area, which resulted in a 15-year old boy being arrested in an Aberglasslyn home on Wednesday afternoon.
A search of the home allegedly revealed a number of stolen items including a mountain bike.
Further inquiries led officers to a unit on Churchill Crescent, Rutherford, where a large quantity of power tools was located and seized.
Officers then went to two further properties in Telarah and Rutherford where they recovered further stolen items including an iPad and unique AFL jerseys.
The young person was charged with seven counts of goods in custody. He was given conditional bail and will appear in a children's court on Thursday, July 23.
As inquiries continue, further arrests are expected.
