Re-imagining farming, building resilience and ensuring food security for the future.
If they sound appealing to you, Hunter Organic Growers Society and Slow Food Hunter Valley are offering two $2000 scholarships in 2020.
It is an opportunity for two young people to be immersed in learning about established and sustainable food production from some of the Hunter's most innovative, experienced, and ecologically sustainable producers.
The two scholarships are on offer to local tertiary students who are currently undertaking studies in agriculture, horticulture or a related field who are interested in and excited to learn about small scale farming, sustainable food productions systems and natural cycles.
Both successful applicants will also receive two days on-the-farm experience at the award winning Little Hill Farm in Mount Vincent and a two-hour personal tour of Limestone Permaculture, Stroud with its inspiring owner Brett Cooper. To top it off, both will be given two-year memberships to Hunter Organic Growers Society and Slow Food Hunter Valley.
Applicants should be aged 18 to 30, reside in the Hunter Valley and currently engaged in a relevant field of tertiary study.
