Group 21 teams Greta Branxton Colts and Singleton Greyhounds and Denman Devils are to field sides in a 30-plus team Newcastle and Hunter Community Rugby League competition.

The Colts and Greyhounds have requested to run two men's teams and ladies league tag sides in the NHCRL's 10-round competition which kicks off on July 18. The regular season will be followed by a three-week semi-final series and grand final on October 24.
The Greyhounds will also run an under-18 team. It hasn't been confirmed how many sides the Devils will enter.

They will be joined by several clubs from the Maitland and surrounding district including defending triple Ladies League Tag premiers Aberglasslyn Ants and D-grade men's champs Dungog.
Local clubs which have signalled they will be taking part include Aberglasslyn (men, llt and wt), Dungog (m, llt), Kearsley (m, wt), Maitland United (m, llt, wt), Morpeth (m), Raymond Terrace (m, llt, wt) and Thornton-Beresfield (m, llt, wt)
Clubs have until Friday to enter teams and the league hopes to finalise a draw by Sunday, July 5.
The men's competition will feature A, B and C-grades and a west, south and north D-grade conferences.
There will be three grades of ladies league tag and two women's tackle divisions.

Wild said once club numbers have been confirmed it was hoped a revised draw would be completed and published by Sunday.
"Team numbers for the competition are still very strong and we are expecting great interest come round one. Clubs have been briefed individually in regards Covid requirements," he said.
