Pre-sold tickets are one of several options being considered as Maitland prepares to kick off their President's Cup and Newcastle RL amateur competitions with away games on July 18.
Under Covid-19 guidelines, contact details are required for all participants and crowd members and Pickers president Frank Lawler said a pre-sale system would have the advantage of simplifying collection of relevant data at the gate, with details taken at the point of sale and only requiring verification.
"We need to just check off with council in relation to the draft dates for the competition, but we're hopeful everything will go well," he said.
"We certainly want to avoid turning people away at the gate and making things as seamless as possible in relation to fans coming through and recording their contact details."
The Pickers host their first games in both competitions on Saturday, July 25, when they play the Hills Bulls in President's Cup and Central Newcastle and the Newcastle RL competition in Tier 1 and 2 men's, Blues Tag and under-19s.
