The Seniors Forum - to be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 11am - will be an information session with speakers including Shadow Minister for Ageing and Seniors Julie Collins, and a representative from the Older Persons Advocacy Network or associated organisation Seniors Rights Service.
The Youth Forum - on Thursday, July 23 at 6pm - is an opportunity for people aged 16-25 to speak directly Ms Swanson and Shadow Minister for Youth Amanda Rishworth on issues they care about.
"We know that the COVID crisis is having a big impact on young people," Ms Swanson said.
"Our youth are bearing the brunt of job losses, disruption to their studies, and their mental health is suffering.
"That's why I'm hosting a virtual youth forum, to give young people an opportunity to speak directly with their federal member and Labor's Shadow Minister for Youth, Amanda Rishworth about these issues."
Music producer Just A Gent will be a guest speaker at the youth forum, talking about building his music career in Maitland.
Both forums will be conducted via the online conferencing platform Zoom. RSVP at merylswanson.com.au.
