Hills and Comets and The George and Stangas are the only teams with two wins from two games.
However, all were put on notice by EMNC Rebels who backed up their narrow 44-46 loss to Hills last week with an emphatic 50-28 win against Flames.
Rebels play The George in what should be another first-class game on Saturday.
Comets had an important win overcoming last year's grand finalist Club Maitland City 38-1, and the Stangas, made up of players from the Maitland basketball, continued on their winning way with a 46-28 win against BDNC Alcobolics.
The George collected their win on forfeit from the Bradford, while Hills showed their title-winning form with a 52-13 win against Razzamatazz.
Customs House Hotel recorded their first win of the season defeating Quarry Bar and Grill 30-16.
This year A-grade is an amalgam of A-1 and A-2 featuring 12 teams playing over 11 rounds. The semi-finals and grand final are on the weekend of September 26-27.
