For the next week, overnight temperatures are set to dip into single digits - possibly lower - and daytime maximums will struggle to reach the high teens.
At 10am today Weatherzone recorded Maitland's temperature at 10.9 but said it felt like 3.9 with 35 km/h north west winds adding a chill factor.
Rain is set to develop over the next 48 hours with evening rain forecast for the city on Friday.
Thursday's temperature is forecast to range from a minimum of 1 degree to a top of 16.
Friday will have the chance of afternoon or evening rain with a daytime maximum of 15.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday with a day time maximum of 17.
Rain is forecast Sunday with a top of 16 degrees.
More showers are expected to continue throughout the rest of next week with Thursday tipped to reach a top of 21.
