It is believed the vehicle, with number plate CW45RP, could be parked on the roadside somewhere in Maitland, or even in another suburb.
The uninsured car was stolen in the middle of the night on June 12. A $5000 reward has been put on the table, but even that has not yet sparked a flow of information.
"Often cars are stolen and they are driven to another location," Port Stephens-Hunter crime manager Detective Inspector Ranald Urquhart said.

"For example, a vehicle could be stolen at East Maitland and it could be driven to Merewether and parked in a street there and nobody notices.
"Or it could be in a busy car park. Or it could be left somewhere where it wouldn't necessarily be noticed. It could be burned out in the bush. There's no hard and fixed answer as to why one vehicle would turn up and another wouldn't be located."
Detective Inspector Urquhart said police had found stolen vehicles in the Port Stephens-Hunter area before and they had originally come from another part of the state.
The theft was captured on security footage.
