Club Maitland City made the best of difficult conditions to claim a 27-20 win over grand final conquerors Hills Solicitors on Saturday.

The two teams are locked on 22 points with Hills in fourth place and CMC fifth, three points behind The George and NVY Comets and six points adrift of unbeaten competition leaders WRTNC Stangas.
Stangas accounted for Easts Rebels 50-37. The loss leaves Rebels in sixth place on 19 points and the only other team at all likely to take part in finals apart from the top five.
Comets ran out 63-28 winners over Branxton Alcobolics and The George had a 35-20 win over WRTNC Quarry Bar and Grill.
.Customs House Hotels and Bradford claimed their second wins of the season to leave. Customs House defeated Flames 43-21 and Bradford had a 38-20 win over WRTNC Razzamatazz to keep the Wests' team on the bottom of the table without a win to date.
There are four rounds remaining to be played before the finals week on September 26-27.
The match of the round next Saturday sees the reigning back to back premiers Hills Solicitors taking on the top of the table Stangas
