A MAN will face court on Monday after police allegedly found unauthorised ammunition while attempting to serve an arrest warrant at East Maitland.

Port Stephens-Hunter police attended a Blackett Close property about 9.30pm on Sunday in an attempt to speak to a man wanted for a November break and enter offence in Wickham.
Officers observed a man running from the back of the property.
Following a short foot pursuit, they arrested a 35-year-old man on Mitchell Drive.
"Following a search of the area, police located a black satchel bag, allegedly containing 40 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition, a spent shell casing and three air rifle pellets," police said.
The 35-year-old was taken to Maitland police station and charged with possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, as well as on the warrant for special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-weapon.
He was refused bail to appear in Maitland Local Court.
