The Maitland Magpies answered coach Mick Bolch's plea for them to find the back of the net - slotting home six of the best against a 10-man Adamstown Rosebud on Sunday.

Braedyn Crowley scored a hat-trick, Joel Wood scored one and delightfully set up two more, while Ryan Clarke and Jimmy Thompson grabbed one each in fitting rewards for outstanding matches.
The result lifts the Magpies to fourth on the ladder on 16 points, one behind Newcastle Olympic, and one ahead of Lambton (fifth) and Weston (sixth) who played out a one-all draw on Saturday.
Edgeworth denied Olympic a point with a 3-1 victory on Sunday and Broadmeadow survived a scare accounting for Lake Macquarie 3-2 on Saturday.
While critics may point out Maitland's six-goal mauling was over a 10-man, near bottom of the ladder opponent, the Magpies have struggled to find the back of the net and turned things around on Sunday creating and taking plenty of chances.
It could have been worse apart from an outstanding effort in goal by Daniel Eisenhauer who pulled off several magnificent saves including deflecting away a penalty attempt by Wood.
Team goals, opportunist goals, well-crafted crosses, clever taps and all importantly the bounce of the ball going their way was just what Maitland needed to get themselves back on track and their final's destiny firmly back in their own hands.
Magpies coach Bolch was delighted with the performance across the team.
"We changed shape a bit this week and the boys all brought into it. Just the talk on the field was something that hadn't been there for nearly the whole season," Bolch said.
"You don't know whether to put it down to it being sudden death today. We were already playing well when they lost a man and 10 men made it a bit easier for what we were doing, how we were playing but at the end of the day I think it all comes down to the fact that we took our chances today.
"Our decision making in the front third was a lot better than it has been, our crosses and the last past were sticking today where that hasn't been happening.
"Defensively I thought we were really good. We ended up starting a bit deeper than we usually do and were soaking up the pressure.
"Everyone had a role today and everyone performed it really well."
A loss against Adamstown would have effectively ended any hopes of finals, but the Magpies still probably need four points from their final two games and preferably the full six to guarantee a spot in the top five.
"We went with a few different things today and it worked, now we just need to back up next week," Bolch said.
"Results went our way and we're back up to fourth spot and it's in our own hands with two weeks to go."
The Magpies host minor premiers Edgeworth this coming Sunday before travelling to take on Valentine to see out their 2020 regular season campaign.
Edgeworth and Broadmeadow have already qualified and Olympic, who have almost done enough, have the easiest run home. Lambton and Weston are both on 15 points and Azzurri are on 14.
Weston and Azzurri play each other this Sunday. Azzurri and Lambton also both have games to come against Broadmeadow which could be pivotal for their chances of making the finals.
