Ukranian second seed Elina Svitolina has advanced into the Internationaux de Strasbourg semi-finals, but there was a last-eight exit for former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko.
Svitolina battled back from a break down in each set to defeat Switzerland's Jil Teichmann 6-4 6-3.
"It was a great fight from Jil and I think both of us were playing at a really good level at some points," Svitolina said.
"I was fighting. I didn't start the match very well, but I was trying to be very focused and fight back. In the end, I'm very happy with how I handled the match today."
Ostapenko was beaten 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (6-4) by Nao Hibino of Japan.
The match featured 12 breaks of serve in total, with Hibino recovering to win after being two down in the second set.
She will now face Elena Rybakina in the last four following the fifth seed's 6-3 6-2 victory over Shuai Zhang.
Svitolina will take on the winner of fourth seed Aryna Sabalenka's clash with Katerina Siniakova.
That match is set to resume on Friday after being suspended due to rain with Siniakova having won the first set 6-2 and Sabalenka 2-1 up in the second.
