One of Lawyer X's past clients has called for an entrapment defence to be introduced in Victoria because of her conduct.

But another, Dale O'Sullivan, says he holds no ill will at all to Ms Gobbo, whose identity was hidden by police in their notes as informer number 3838.

"I must say I admire Nicola and hold no ill feelings against her as I believe it's a clear case of lawless police, blackmailing and corrupting an innocent school girl from Genazzano College, Kew, in the prime of her adult legal career," Mr O'Sullivan wrote in a submission to the royal commission.

But Mr O'Sullivan told the inquiry in a written submission that he had only pleaded guilty to charges he was facing in 2007 after she told him to do so.

"She convinced me to plead guilty to police charges that I steadfastly believed I could defend or win, or at the very least tie up police resources, which I was renowned for doing in the past," he wrote.

Another ex-client, whose name was withheld by the inquiry, said she had convinced him to plead guilty too when that was not what he wanted.

That person says Ms Gobbo just showed up to represent him, despite not being hired by his family or briefed by a solicitor about the case.

He said Ms Gobbo "forcefully persuaded" him to plead guilty to all charges he was facing, even those where he was innocent.

Details of the case are redacted in documents released by the commission on Wednesday.

They appear to show Ms Gobbo "guaranteed" the client would spend a maximum number of years in prison, but in reality they received a longer sentence.

They claimed some of the charges were the result of entrapment by corrupt police.

"The (redacted) charges are the result of entrapment and while I understand entrapment is not a defence in Victoria maybe the time has come for the issue to be addressed," he wrote.

"As a result of 3838 ... acting for me I was not properly represented, as is obvious from my sentence."

Jan Visser, who was released on bail earlier this year pending an appeal in connection with Ms Gobbo's informing, said he had chosen to represent himself because of "bad experiences" with lawyers in Victoria and NSW.

He has claimed his prosecution was malicious and the criminal justice system had been corrupted by the abuse of a police informer.

"There arises a greater public interest in disclosure to which the interest in informer anonymity must yield," he said.

"The police malpractice constitutes a miscarriage of justice in the way the evidence and information was obtained and is unprecedented."
