The road is set to undergo a $17 million upgrade to reduce the impact of flooding and improve connectivity, with construction due to start later in the year.
Preparation work, including surveying and the installation of safety barriers, will be carried out between 6pm on Monday (October 19) and 6am the following morning, weather permitting.
Lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
