No less than 30 classic vehicles will be on show at the Cars of the World display, representing manufacturing from Australia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States.
The display, provided by Maitland Classic Motor Association will show some of the finest cars produced in the 20th century, with makes including Jaguar, Datsun, Porsche, Cadillac, Australian made cars by Holden and Ford and more.
If that's not enough to tempt you, on the day people can also check out a brand new Suzuki Vitara Turbo from Heritage Motor Group and, by spending $20 or more at participating stores at The Levee, shoppers can go in the draw to win one of these cars valued at $31,990. The competition will be drawn on Tuesday, December 22.
"Cars of the World is a chance for people admire a fantastic collection of cars and enjoy a day out at The Levee," Maitland Council's Public Programs Officer David Graham said. "We are hoping that people will also visit the great mix of local businesses in The Levee.
"This is a great chance for the community to get together, in a COVID Safe way, and support small businesses."
Cars of the World will also include music and a steampunk road crew. Families can also pick up a free giant paper aeroplane kit or take part in one of six toy car scavenger hunts too. All activities make up part of The Levee's spring theme #GoingGlobal.
The Levee Shared Zone will be closed to traffic during Cars of the World which will run from 9am to 3pm. People attending are asked to use a QR Code contract tracing system that will be displayed throughout the space and adhere to social distancing and limits of people gathering in groups.
Organisers have pointed out they may need to adapt or cancel the event if health advice or restrictions change.
