Transport for NSW will carry out work, including replacing timber truss elements and repainting the bridge.
Work will start on Monday (October 19) and will be carried out between 6am and 5pm from Monday to Thursday, and is expected to be completed in seven months, weather permitting.
Work will also be undertaken from a barge under the bridge, with part of the river closed to marine traffic and a 4-knot speed restriction in place.
Temporary lane closures will be in place between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Thursday, with traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h for the safety of workers and road users.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
