The project has been in the works for five years and owner-director Jason Gavin is relieved to see it come to fruition.
"This has been a huge undertaking and one that we've been working on for a long time," Mr Gavin said.
"We started building pre-COVID so we've had to deal with the difficulties and uncertainty of that, alongside the other challenges that come with building a venue from scratch.
"But, we've persevered and we're proud of the outcome. The result is a new hub for the community where absolutely everyone is welcome."
Designed by award-winning hospitality architects Bergstrom Architects and built by Whitcon, the tavern will feature a public bar (with an extensive wine list, local and international beers and vibrant cocktail menu), a bistro (open for lunch and dinner seven days a week) and a cafe (open from 7am daily).
There's also a drive-through bottle shop, indoor kids' playground, a kids' theatre, an outdoor terrace, a VIP outdoor lounge, TAB and KENO facilities.
There will be live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night, and a courtesy bus to ensure patrons get home safely.
The official opening will be conducted at 5pm Friday by none other than Rugby League Immortal, Andrew Johns.
Entertainment by popular Newcastle band Gen-R-8 will follow at 9pm.
Mr Gavin said they can't wait to open the doors.
"It's great to be the first hotel in this brand new town - that's not the type of opportunity that comes along every day," he said.
"And being located at the gateway to Wine Country makes the location hard to beat."
The tavern is located on Empire Street, just off Wine Country Drive (near the newly-opened Huntlee Shopping Centre).
