Maitland City Council has launched a new business opportunity prospectus for Morpeth that will ensure the town continues to thrive and evolve as a destination of choice for residents and visitors.

The prospectus is designed to inspire interest and attract investment from business types identified through community engagement that included existing Morpeth businesses.
Based on the results of the research, people want to see the current business offering complemented with additional businesses like artisan food and produce stores, small bars, espresso bars, homewares and wellbeing businesses.
The prospectus is an initiative of council's COVID-19 Response and Recovery. It will accompany the Central Maitland prospectus launched earlier this year and is supported by Maitland's Destination Management Plan, which identifies Morpeth as a priority hub.
The prospectus will be a key tool for Council, existing business and property owners, real estate agents as well as other stakeholders to help attract interest and investment into Morpeth.
Maitland Mayor, Councillor Loretta Baker said Morpeth is treasured by residents and visitors alike.
"This prospectus recognises the area's strengths, and the opportunity to build upon its unique appeal and heritage," she said.
"Council has a real spotlight on Morpeth right now with a range of initiatives including Morph It and planning for Morpeth's Bicentenary in 2021, and the prospectus is designed to help take advantage of that and inspire interest to drive investment into Morpeth."
Council will distribute the prospectus to key business types identified in the research as well as real estate agents, local businesses and government bodies to help drive interest.
