The projects, which are spread across the region, include new and upgraded infrastructure such as roads, water and sewerage systems, resilience community programs and social infrastructure such as local childcare services and sports fields.
Major Hunter projects include a $886,213 shared pathway from Morpeth to the Walka Water Works, a $500,000 active hub at Wallsend's Federal Park, a $500,000 new grandstand at Singleton Rugby Club and a $600,000 upgrade to Hamiltons Crossing Road Causeway, Singleton.
They are among 84 projects in 24 mining related Local Government Areas across the state to be funded by round seven of the program.
It was established to support the ongoing prosperity of mining communities in regional NSW.
"These 84 projects will make a real difference to mining communities and there is even more to come, with confirmation in the recent NSW Budget that $75 million will be available for new projects through Resources for Regions round eight in 2021," NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro said.
Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen said the program funding would help communities across the region thrive.
"This funding is great news for our local councils and organisations in the Upper Hunter electorate, and the wider Hunter region, and it will go far to support local infrastructure projects from health, water, roads, education and tourism," Mr Johnsen said.
"I know from our local councils and communities that the funding from Resources for Regions program is greatly appreciated.
Mayor of Singleton Sue Moore said she was delighted $4,571,283 would coming to the community from the program.
"Many of these projects are driven by community organisations that would otherwise take years of fundraising before they could happen, and now we're going to see work underway sooner rather than later," Cr Moore said.
"Council has worked long and hard on advocating for reforms to the Resources for Regions program and it's wonderful to see that the people of Singleton are finally reaping the rewards.
