Since the welcome of the highly anticipated 2021 - I don't think any of us were sad to see 2020 go - the city has been a hive of activity.
The Maitland District Historical Society is ramping up a campaign to preserve unearthed history during archaeological investigations at the future Council Administration Centre site.
While Maitland Council is hosting a series of summer activities through January and February from outdoor cinemas to Street Eats at various locations around the city.
But the real crown jewel? This week, Maitland shoppers will be able to bag a bargain at The Levee's summer sale.
Running over three days, January 14 to 16, there will be a range of activities, performances and entertainment at The Levee.
The Levee $5,000 Shopping Spree is also making a return once again, so shop local and with every $20 spent in store, get your entry into the draw.
After such a tough year, we need to band together to help the community and economy bounce back - within our budget, of course.
And, also we deserve a little fun so why not check out what's happening around the city and treat yourself.
