We've delved into the archives and dusted off the bound copies of the Maitland Mercury from years gone by.
Take a walk down memory lane with us as we look back to the pages of March 26, 2006.
These are the stories behind the faces in the social pages:
FAMILY BENEFIT
When mother-of-two Cindy Noak was killed in a head-on collision in December 2005, the grief was felt through the community.
Not only was it Mrs Noak's two school-aged children and husband who felt the loss, but employees at Bunnings Warehouse, where Mrs Noak worked, were also in shock.
Since her death, Bunnings employees have organised a number of fundraising efforts, including a benefit night at Telarah Bowling Club on Saturday.
Through their efforts close to $18,000 has been raised for the Noak family
CLUB SHINES FOR BIG BIRTHDAY BASH
Members and guests of the Maitland Lantern Club celebrated the club's 40th anniversary with a lunch at the Therry Centre in East Maitland on Friday.
Lantern clubs fundraise for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children.
There are more than 25 Lantern Clubs across NSW with a total membership of more than 1000 people.
People attending the Maitland Lantern Club were entertained by Douglas Stewart - known for his roles in Oliver and The Mouse Trap - who spoke on his life 'From Maitland to the London Stage'.
Some members received their 40-year stars and Jess Wood cut the anniversary cake.
The Maitland Lantern Club is always on the lookout for new members. The club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am at Easts Bowling Club, Banks Street, East Maitland.
