The stamp is to celebrate 150 years since HMVS Cerberus arrived in Port Phillip Bay, on April 9, 1871.
It will be officially released on March 22 and to mark the event Hansen will be at Morpeth Gallery on the weekend of March 20 and 21.
Hansen will be available at the gallery to autograph posters and other items for collectors.
Recognised as the best marine artist in Australia Hansen is frequently called upon by the Australian Navy to paint various navel scenes and ships and Australia Post has used him for decades to design marine stamps.
"If he isn't painting he is out sailing and this is what gives him the edge in being able to paint the seas in such a realistic style," said Morpeth Gallery owner Trevor Richards.
"You will be able to witness his painting skills as he works at his easel in Morpeth Gallery over both days of this celebratory weekend.
"It is 200 years this year, since first land grants were released at Morpeth which was Australia's major inland port.
"How appropriate is it that this 200 year anniversary is being celebrated with the countries most celebrated marine artist being in residence at Morpeth Gallery," Mr RIchards said.
