The Thornton Public school community has done it again - turning a citizenship activity into a generous donation for people in need.
Just in time for winter, the school has donated another batch of brightly coloured hand made rugs, this time for people affected by flood.
The school's Wrapped with Love Project saw 30 hand made blankets donated to the Port Stephens Neighbourhood Centre recently.
The blankets are headed to help families impacted by the recent floods and others experiencing homelessness.
The project, organised by Mrs Yvonne Fletcher included Thornton Public school staff, parents and community members who knitted the warm rugs over recent months.
Last week the school's staff donated Easter eggs to Carrie's Place for the service to distribute to children in refuges and shelters in the area.
