While these words were seemingly said with mirth by Maitland identity Helen Hopcroft, the curator of Dubbo-bound Mad Bitches Inc - you can't help but wonder if she was being deadly serious and wish Dubbo good luck.

Ms Hopcroft describes the female-fronted cabaret show as 'wild, funny and sexy'.

"We have burlesques, theatre, performance poetry and a woman who really likes setting fire to things. They've been assembled recklessly by myself," Ms Hopcroft laughed.

"We had a sell-out season in Newcastle and now we've been invited to tour to Dubbo Fringe, Maitland Indie Festival and also heading to Sydney in September.

"It's fantastic."

On Thursday, the troupe left on the journey to Dubbo for its inaugural festival which will run from May 7 to 9.
